My new hobby:  book binding.  from scratch.  I'd like to do a few nice small photographers record books.  If you all could have a notebook to keep notes in, what would you look for?

any ideas?  EV info?  Roll info?  Sheet info?  dates?  blank pages for drawings?  what would you like to see?

Date, weather/conditions, location?

Or are you thinking in terms of development, not shooting?

Do you know about this place?

How about a four corner cut-out for placing that back of film-box (saving me from having to write out the ISO, type, brand etc.)

Then you might put a series of check boxes at the top (header) for what the page dealt with - shoot, darkroom, film, print - the date, film, camera, lenses, EXIF-type data, location, weather.

An area for commentary or notes in the center.

Then down one side things like developer, dilution, time, paper, temperature, etc.

And if the pages can have the text printed in light gray, rather than dark black, without lines, you could draw over the template instead of needing blank pages.

Then you could end up with journals like these. Smiley

edit: Oh and if you can bind it so it will lie flat. Makes it easier to scribble when one's hands are covered in HC110. May mean a larger format (8x10?) would work better than a smaller one (4x5?)

I'm a sucker for notebooks, so if you make an extra one, I'll buy it. :muching_out:
