My doc didn't offer any alternative--I went under, and the next thing I knew, it was over. The only evidence I had was some pictures he took (showing nothing of import, thank goodness). I asked why I hadn't noticed anything, and the nurse just said, "Good drugs."  Whatever they were, apparently not remembering was part of the desired intent. Prep was really the worst part, and I compared that to a bad case of intestinal flu--you live to laugh about it.  Next appointment in 5 years.

Well, I haven't had to have a colonoscopy yet, my wife is constantly reminding me that I am old enough that I need to have a prostate exam. At 35, I really should, especially since my grandfather had prostate cancer.

Thus far, the only real procedure that I've had done (knock on wood), was to dilate a Schatzki ring in my esophagus that resulted in difficulty swallowing. Fortunately, I was sedated for it.

Acceptably sharp, but not critically focused.
