Excellent shots but I have to agree that the last one takes the cake. Is that the chain off your bike, or the mainspring from your watch? I think I could spend a lot of effort in the darkroom with that one.

That looks more like a rolled up track/belt of some large machinery or a treaded vehical of some type. That is great. got notified by Freestyle my Diafine shipped yesterday should have it by mid week or sooner.

Larry hit it on the nose - it is a conveyer belt, probably from an industrial oven by the looks of it.
I put this roll through Diafine, but this time I went nearly 2.5 mins and did not like the effect for frames shot at 400ASA. The top building shots were shot at 800 while out with Bruce earlier in the week, so they look smoother. As for the rest, I made a bad decision. Should have let all of it go to 3mins and take the grain, but was curious about the look at 2.5 mark.

Looks like 2 is the secret but 3 is where it runs for what ever. I wonder how the Double xx would look at 2? rated at 250-300? I wish I had some but my bulk loader died and I am too lazy these dayes to get another one let alone find an end roll of Double X. And it died a heros death. My daughter threw it at a rat.

I noticed that the rail cars are up on blocks. Times must be rough for the Railrad in Arkansaw. or is it just that when in Rome? LOL

This is a scrap operation on the south side of town. The SL/SF railroad company is long defunct, so when that car was badordered years ago and set out, it likely ended up being condemned and sold as scrap or storage. The wheels were likely scavenged. It's a neat piece of history.... any of you with an interest and know-how could probably track it back through time, but I'm just a photographer for the most part.
Jay, glad you like it. I would LOVE to spend a few weeks in and around Atlanta/Austell/Fairburn checking out the NS/CSXT moves.

Back in the 50's in my home town up in the way far North in a place called Iowa. the railroad would deliver old box cars to your property and people used them to make additions to their little post war homes. they would wood them over or just paint them I even knew a guy who had one planted in the ground for a bomb shelter.
