Okay, so I bought an XE-7 off of eBay for about $75, and the camera obviously hasn't been used since Leonardo da Vinci's days.

The switches were frozen and the meter a bit sporadic, and finally that's clearing up with a bit of use.

But my problem is that today, the power switch came loose and dissappeared! That only adds to the fact that Auto mode, as well as shutter speeds of 4sec, 2sec, 1sec, 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 don't work. The mirror locks up and the shutter locks up until I switch to X or B...

Uhhh....  :x Does anyone know where I can at least get a power switch (does anyone have one?), and especially where I could get it running for preferably under $100?

I may be asking too much, but hey!

I dont think you can get somebody to touch that one for $100. Who did you buy it from? Do you have an option to return it as defective?

The locking up is a serious issue. I have two XE7s and I pray they never do that because I will have to junk them. Too expensive to repair and a bitch to repair to begin with, from what I am told.

I would try my damnedest to get that refunded. You might also contact Jon Goodman who may be able to help you out, maybe not. I think Craig Held might have some insight or ability also.

Here is Craig's profile for contact info: http://nelsonfoto.com/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=68

Jon_Goodman AT yahoo DOT com is Jon's contact. He is primarily known for his seal kits, but I think he CLAs as well.

Good luck.

C.

Furthermore, you should WELL expect to get a decent XE7 for that $100.

Have you checked KEH?
