Is it possible (read: fairly idiot-proof) to convert a 616 camera to take 120 film?  My knowledge of archaic formats is nil...

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, I am so glad you asked that question.  I have performed this conversion to several cameras in my collection.  There's a thread devoted to it here, with a pdf file attached for you to download:

http://nelsonfoto.com/SMF/index.php/topic,16178.0.html

Although it looks like the pdf file disappeared in the transition to the new SMF site, so please PM me with your email address and I will send you the file.  Still, there are some photos at the thread to show completed converted cameras.

If any questions arise during your own conversion project, please don't hesitate to bounce them off me.

Scott, have you made any attempts in conversion yet?

Ya know, Pete, I don' remember what camera I was interested in the time now.  Thought it was a Kodak Medalist II, but those are 620.  I remember I was gently convinced that it was a losing proposition (the camera itself was on the order of $150, pre-conversion).

Wish I could remember more for ya. Huh

Was it by chance a Monitor Six-16?  Those would be like pie to convert.  I've done a 616 folder conversion, see here.

Or you can buy one of my conversions (like this one)...hint, hint.  Smiley  I'll ask only $149.99!
