You have to store the picture somewhere else (for instance in Photobucket or Flickr) and include the link to the picture in your post.

The buttons above create the tags that allow you to embed images, but you have to supply the URL for the images. And to get that URL, you have to put the image someplace on the internet, like Julio says.

The basic template for an image is:

{img}URL for the image here{/img}

where the { } is instead replaced by [ ] in each case, which the button (a little painting) above will do automatically. You just paste the URL into the middle.

To make sure everything worked, you can do a preview by clicking the button below. Then if it looks right, you can post it. Or you can correct it and check again.

I use my own website for posting pics, sometimes I use flickr, sometimes I steal a photo outright (although I never claim it as mine) and link it to a post from somebody else's website! Smiley

This one's mine:

(Jorn, I didn't even know about those insertion buttons up there.  Thanks for teaching me something, too!)

I use Photobucket because it's virtually idiot proof. I still manage to get it screwed up regularly, though, because when it comes to electronical devices, believe me, I are a idiot. In spades. :p :p

Jorn, Are you referring to buttons on the NFF page, or P'bkt/Flkr? I do my image posting in a similar way, but on Flkr I have to manually hilite the URL, then cut & paste. I don'e see any upper buttons on NFF. Is there a simpler way? P'bkt is automatic, push and play. What am I missing? PC, XP, btw.

Gerry, I think he meant the buttons for the tags (the {url} {/url} ) are at the top of the NFF posting page. It looks to be the second from the left above the smileys. As to flickr and the page url, when you click on the individual photo, above it there is an "all sizes" button. If you click on that you can choose which size you want to use, then the url for that size will be listed in a box below the photo. Then you still have to copy and insert into the tag in your post. I hope I haven't confused anyone to much, so I'll quit while I'm ahead.  :cool:

Thanks, Rich. That  is my approach, except for the (duh!) buttons above the smilies. Will try those next time.

Yeah, the buttons above the smilies.

Lance - you can use any image hosting service you like. You just need the URL for the image's static location to paste into the HTML tags that are created by the buttons here on the Nelsonfoto site.
