This may be just a wild assumption on my part, but I'll bet that quite a few of you enjoy beer.  I'm visiting my bride in Arizona and getting access to many beers that I have not seen on the East Coast.  Here are three:

My current favorite, Kiltlifter Scottish Style Ale, Tempe, AZ

A nice amber, Fat Tire, from Fort Collins, CO

A pale ale, Firestone Double Barrel Ale, Paso Robles, CA

Googling, I've found many interesting sayings about beer.  My current favorite is from Ben Franklin:
"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

What do you have in your cooler now?  Anything with a pretty label?  How about a photo with an interesting background (person, place or thing).  Do you have a favorite quote?

Cheers, bottoms-up, etc. from Hereford, Arizona,

Dennis

Strooth, that Fat Tire is smashin' stuff.  I've never seen the Kiltlifter (excellent name!) nor the Firestone before.  I just finished the last bottle of a 12-pack of Red Stripe Lager from Jamaica, but didn't think to save a bottle for a portrait.

THE PUB WITH NO BEER (The Dubliners)

It's lonesome away from your kindred and all,
By the campfire at night where the wild dingoes call,
But there's nothing so lonesome, so dull or so drear,
Than to stand in the bar of a pub with no beer.

Now the publican's anxious for the quota to come,
There's a faraway look on the face of the bum,
The maid's gone all cranky and the cook's acting queer,
What a terrible place is a pub with no beer.

The stockman rides up with his dry, dusty throat,
He breasts up to the bar, pulls a wad from his coat,
But the smile on his face quickly turns to a sneer,
When the barman says sadly: "The pub's got no beer!"

There's a dog on the veranda, for his master he waits,
But the boss is inside, drinking wine with his mates,
He hurries for cover and he cringes in fear.
It's no place for a dog, round a pub with no beer.

Old Billy, the blacksmith, for the first time in his life,
Has gone home cold sober to his darling wife,
He walks in the kitchen; she says, "You're early, me dear"
Then he breaks down and he tells her, that the pub's got no beer

Oh, it's lonesome away from your kindred and all,
By the campfire at night where the wild dingoes call,
But there's nothing so lonesome, so dull or so drear,
Than to stand in the bar of a pub with no beer.

You've done it now.... you have caused my inner "Beer Geek" to come out.   :p

I LOVE BEER!!!   Any and all sorts.    Not real big on strong IPA's and tend to prefer the belgians more than anything.   Also love a good amber  or bock beer.  I make an almost weekly trip to a large liquor store here in Houston to pick up anything new that has come in.  I have an entire fridge dedicated to just my beer.  I will normally have anywhere from 10 to 20 different beers on hand at any give time.  My neighbors love me!  A few friends and I really enjoy finding weird brews to try.

Anyway,  here are a couple from a trip a couple of months ago.   Just happen to have some photos from this haul.

A few years ago, a Marine friend brought me a t-shirt from Germany that said something like: Bier bildete mich so stattlich! (Beer made me look this good!)

Geez, Dennis, I am very fond of beer (as you know), but have never thought to photograph it!  I am partial now to several kinds from Northeast Coast breweries (e.g., Harpoon).  I must remember to do some recording in images.

Beer, glorious beer...

I couldn't resist taking a picture of the "Invalid Stout" bottle:

And some beer scenes from around the world. My wife with a stange of Kölsch in Cologne (and a big sausage) - probably taken very close to Mike's second picture above - and me at the Guinness factory.

BTW Pete, "Pub with No Beer" was originally recorded in Australia (of course) by country music legend Slim Dusty and was apparently adapted from a poem written here in my state (says wiki). My favourite Australian beers are Little Creatures Pale Ale (from Fremantle), Coopers Pale or Sparkling Ale (from Adelaide) and Cascade Stout (from Hobart). If you ever get the chance, give them a try!

I also love beer. When I travel my beer taste is more flexible, many times perforce. At home, I buy whatever is on sale from my A list: Beck, Heineken, Stella Artois, Grolsch, Pilsner Urquell, Dos Equis.

Before Claudia took the pledge, her favorite beer was Miller Hi-life.  That's how I ended up with the bottle in my hand. Note the cap is still on.

Good day, all,

And thanks for adding to this thread.  I'm having fun reading all the entries this morning.   Jim Evans, you win the prize for dedication--10 to 20 varieties of beer in a dedicated 'fridge makes me envious.  I'd like to try that St. Bernardus.

Mike Kovacs and Wayne, your similar posts come closest to what I had in mind--good photos of interesting beers in their own environments.  Thanks for adding the self-portraits and Wayne, I love the picture of your wife.

Les, as usual you have managed to pull out a good, on-topic photo (and a nice self-portrait too).  Here's to your good health!

Pete, thanks for your many contributions.  Larry too.  James, perhaps we should try some photography at the outdoor Bierstube in Leesburg.

I'm off to see my ranger son Will at White Sands, NM.  I'm taking a dozen Kiltlifters along to cut the dust.  The Nikon D200 and F3 are coming too.

Have a good day,
Dennis

Smiley

Dennis, I found a couple more prints from our trip overseas in 2002 that I'll add to this thread after I scan them tonight. Seems like we had a beer tour of half the world...
