I thought of starting this thread after seeing the portrait which Les took so many years ago of his son Danny by window light.

These are two of the characters who inhabit our chambers

Dan,

Good idea to make window shots a thread, and so quickly established. From a thought to rapid action.

Those are two fine portraits that are opposites on a tonal scale, but each so effective and they complement each other, so well. Both men display a lot of character in these portraits. Well done, Dan, Bravo!

Scott,

Reconsidering my choices and now choose number 2 & 3 as favorites

Here's is one of Claudia-- my favorite female model.

Scott - I like the drama in the first, and the fun in the second (which has some very good B&W effect).

Les - what a doll !

Here is my favourite female model looking into the morning light one winter's day:

Interesting thread. Thank you for starting it.

This was John's first day of first grade. The east facing window was behind me, leaving him in the warm morning sunlight.

Great idea, Dan!  Lovely portraits so far, everybody -- now watch me bring down the quality level significantly...Wink

"which I no longer own" ... cause she smashed it over my head just after I took this photo.

;->

Man that kinda looks like a "trip that shutter and you're dead" kinda look.  Or perhaps just a resigned "oh here we go again" look - with which I'm pretty sure most of us are familiar.

cheers!

Bill, I see this in a totally different way, of course.  Smiley

I knew I had one somewhere ...

This was the daughter of a friend, back in '83.

Sandeha,

That's wonderful. Thank you. All of these are good but yours just grabs my eye.

BillyBob, love the cats too.

This is my son Jake, taken three years ago when he was just 13.

So many lovely images. Compliments to you all.

Here's the sister shot of Claudia with the same hat, but nearer to the window, which fits the thread better.
