Excellent street photography, Jorn! I particularly like the gams on the tomato waiting for a taxi (above), the dog waiting at the coffee shop, and the cruel shoes pic ("Ow, you know?"). Terrific series all around.

Brad's right, he looks mighty hot and tired.

Reminds me of the time I visited New York in August. Your shots really convey heat, which I've found is not too easy in photographs.

Thanks guys. The contrasty look comes from (I think) shooting PanF at 80 and then developing it at 50. The highlights still go a bit, but not so much that you can't keep the contrast. And I just looked for sweaty people, which weren't too hard to find.
Today it is pretty bad too. 95 with the heat index. All the concrete in this city just sucks it up like a big pizza oven. And you are the pizza.

Jorn - great exposures and nice tones. I really fell for that shot of the Morris Minor! It was my first car.
The first with the fountain is superb. What camera/lens combo?
It must be amazing to live in a place that can get so hot and then produce blizzards in winter.

Excellent series, once more. I love that first one - the giant water fountain.

Dan - it's a Leica M7 with a 28mm f2.0 ASPH. One of those setups I can't ever imagine selling. I get out of practice shooting it though. I have to write on a piece of tape, "2 steps closer" and put it on the back of the camera. A lot of the shots (some of these too) are a bit far away. It works sometimes, but the rest of the time it is a bit hard to find the center of attention in the shot.
Julio - that water fountain is full of kids from the first day it hits 80+ degrees in the city. And some not-kids. Sometimes it is a bit of a wet t-shirt contest () but that's NYC. But the day I took the photos, kids reigned supreme. They were really having a great time.

Jorn,
Wonderful series of NYC during a record breaking heat wave. The first and last are my favorites. They're HOT!!

Jorn
<<I have to write on a piece of tape, "2 steps closer">>
So true. Something I say to myself after looking at a National Geographic.
That M7 must be marvellous. Btw, I was shooting some portraits of the guys at work a week or so ago and one of them engaged me in conversation about my M4 and the lenses recently refurbished by Sherry Krauter. I thought he was an unusually informed inquisitor. It turns out he is a closet Leica fanatic! And has an M9 on order. Just wait 'til it arrives - ha, he thinks he is the one who will be using it ...

Jorn,
A wonderful series indeed sir. My fave has to be the "Lord & Taylor"-Obsessed image that you captured.

Dan - sounds like you have a new best friend! Les - and it just keeps going. Heat index is 100 degrees today! Charles - I am glad you like that one. The lens is so sharp, but my favorite shots are often the blurry ones. There is something about the quality of the blur that I like. Like this one.
