First time I put film in this camera, I was using a roll that I put in many cameras to test their functions, then I take it out without rewinding all the way so I can use it again.  I thiought that there was a big problem with the film transport on the ME because while loading, the take-up spool would slip.

After tearing it down, and finding no problems, I put it back together and tried to load it again with the test roll.  It was then I realised that the sprocket shaft doesn't just turn with the film, it actually is used to power feed the film onto the take-up spool.  This wasn't happening with the test roll because of the curving of the film, it wasn't catching on the sprocket shaft.  Loaded up a fresh roll, and there was no problem.  At least I learned how to take the camera apart without destroying it.

LOL Like the missing set screw I found out about in a Minolta SRT series camera... it was a frigging 10 cent fix and it cost me $30.00 in shipping.

Film photography and the Soviet Union are not dead. Just downsized.
