I don't like to waste an opportunity when I test out a camera, so I seek out scenes that will not only show off the capabilities or deficiencies of each unit, but are also aesthetically pleasing.  Most shots below were minimally digitaly processed by me (though I did have to do some color correcting of the scans from the developer), or have been cropped to 8x10 which changes the resolution a bit.  Each one is linked to the full set on Flickr, so just click on it to go there.

The curve and the river photos are particularly appealing to me. The swirly background and colors in the river photo really make the shot.

Lick Lick I like and all from a lowly Yashica ME? I love us outer edge photographers.. Sounds better than bottom feeders and for some reason now that I have the beard people on the street think I am cool and not a creep even though I still point the lens into the kiddie parks. Smiley

All nice, Phil.  Not a bad image (or camera) in the bunch.

Boy, I love the Ansco pic shown on this page.  That's really nice.

And, the Canonet is a super-reliable one, isn't it?

Nicely done.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, everyone.  The Canon is the one camera I did the least to.  I just put in a battery, cleaned the lens front and rear, and the ouside of the viewfinder.  But it is the one I like the least for several reasons, but the main one is the meter cuts out when I put the camera in manual, and I have to revert to an external one.  It's not supposed to work that way.

The river shot is kind of a happy accident.  I was using a Widor rangefinder to focus the Viking, and set the focus on the middle of the river.  I guess it turned out to be the far edge of the focus.  Or really great DOF.

Almost fell in the creek when doing the Yashica photos.

The Yashica, Ansco, and Kodak were all shot on Fuji Reala 100, the Canon was on Kodak UC100.
