I picked up a GSN from the flea market for a song awhile back.  Great little camera with a lens as sharp as a tack!  However, my particular one has a broken frame counter.  I know the counters on these are notorious for getting stuck, but that isn't the problem.  If I push the reset button in with a toothpick, nothing happens.  It stays in exactly the same position.

Is this a hard thing to fix?  Reason I ask, is my wife & I are heading to New York City day after tomorrow & I want to take this camera with me.  I can live without a frame counter if I have to, but I'd still like to get it working again.

Google may already have led you here, but there's some discussion of stuck frame counters here http://www.yashica-guy.com/document/repair.html#ten and here http://www.flickr.com/groups/yashicaelectro/discuss/72157625346291202/.  All the raves about this camera are beginning to get to me, so I must get one.

Waiting for the light

Could just be some old light seal got into the spot where the trip lever sits in the back door slot.   And James, I've had one for many years, and always like the output.  I've picked up a couple more that need work, along with some MG-1's.  The other day I got a GL off of Goodwill, and it is a mess.  There is something between the front elements that looks like the shredded paper it was packed in.  That, and a mercury battery I had to dig out of it don't bode too well for me shooting it anytime soon.

Thanks for that Flickr link, James.  I'll give it a try when I get back from NYC.
