A few recent p&s shots for critique: with a lowly Minolta Dual 35 Weathermatic (#1 and 2) and a Yashica T4 Super (#3).

Evening commute

Workyard through screen

Take that, Mr. Kinkade!

The first and second don't seem to me to deliver on their potential.  The escalator has nice lines and surfaces, but the glare overwhelms them.  The second shot has an interesting toy-like appearance, but the composition leaves me wanting to see more.  The third shot has very nice sharpness which complements the subject, a cold winter evening.
I may be missing something here; I'd be interested in reading your own take on these shots.

I liked the reflections on the escalator; just throwing it in there. And the workyard machines did look like toys from above and with the screen texture - cool that you saw it. I think the third is my favorite. Thomas Kinkade's little twinkly paintings are not art that I enjoy, but I thought of his work when I saw the lights here. Ha! Working class Kinkade. Just experimenting with different equipment here and there.
