There are some formulas in Ansel Adams' books too. I've been meaning to try some divided two part developers like the ones given in Thorton's book Edge of Darkness as well. Have all the chemicals.

That I would love to try. You mean two part developers for film, right?
I have no chemicals. Would it be difficult for a layman monkey like me to formulate it?

Everything you could want. Right now I only make my own fixer (no stink!) but I hope to get more ambitions in the near term with one of the various flavors of Pyro.

The book you want to read is The Darkroom Cookbook - I think it's up to the 3rd edition now. Good stuff.
