Hah! A friend of mine years ago was zip-lining with her and her friend's Nikon DSLRs... I think it was a D40 and a D60 in her backpack. She gripped the rope wrong, fell into a river, swam to the edge, and discovered the cameras had been in water long enough to be completely soaked...

Turns out they just set them out to dry for a few days, powered them on and life went on as usual. When I went looking for a DSLR to start out with two years ago, this story alone convinced me to start a Nikon system. Rugged as hell!
