Waiting for the light

I've been picking up some $2 specials at Goodwill lately, and after cleaning them up and testing operations, I decided to load up a couple of the Canons with some old Kodak Gold film I ran across the other day.  I probably bought the film over ten years ago, so it's at least eight years out of date.

First up is an AF35M, with a 2.8/38mm lens.

Next, a Sure Shot (Auto Boy in Japan) 105 Zoom, with a 38-105mm lens.

Good cameras, and you can mount 48mm filters and accessories on the AF35M (like the hard to find aux lens set).  Sorry for the Wally World scans, but I do have to live within my budget.

Later on, I'll have another Canon (AF35ML) for review, and a Kodak Star 35 that I glued back together.

You are a busy beaver, Phil.  Nice work in both sets.

These are very pretty.  You're lucky to find such good finds at your local charity shop, I never have such good luck.

Nancy, right now it's running about 60/40 as to whether or not the cameras even work, and then some of them I'm not sure I even want to run some film through them.  I have six Goodwill's here in the valley that I can go through, and every once in a while they have something no one has destroyed yet.  I watched a kid one evening looking at a Polaroid set, and there was a Flip-Flash bar in it.  He tried for two minutes to open it up, until I said something to him.  My first Canon AF35ML I got was kind of a hurried purchase, as I needed to be somewhere, so I didn't notice until I got home that someone had put a finger through the shutter.  More spare parts!

A finger through the shutter?  Oh, the humanity!
