...and it's made of plastic.  Sort of.  And it's as small as you can get and still fit 35mm film.  Why can't we have a "full frame" digital this size (I suppose there'd be no room for a 3" screen on the back)?

I haven't actually used this camera for a while, as the last time I took it out, the shutter played up, as it did the time before that.  Judging by the fact that there were no problems on the whole of this roll, and the fact that I fitted a new battery, I'm guessing the battery may well have been the problem.  One should always try the easy fixes first....

It still took me a few weeks to make my way through the 36 exposures - it seems so many when you're more used to only having 8 or 12 on a roll  :p

Here's a few shots from around Wellington, some daytime, some night time.

A big thumbs-up, Paul.  The architectural shots are super.  I must dig out my 35EL.

Carefully framed set, but what else would you expect from you, Paul Smiley

The light pole shot, that one just rocks.

Minox is in one of my "someday" list.

Great work, Paul. I like every one of the series. You did a good exercise in low light!

The Minox 35 design is excellent, and the lens is great - your shots and the recent series of Raid in Egypt are nice examples of what the camera can do in the right hands.

What a shame that the shutter did not come out 100% reliable; I have heard the same complaint from a lot of Minox 35 users.

Must be something good about that camera design Paul, as there are a few copies of it running around.  The night shots are really good.  Is there a link to a page with your sets, so I can look with out having to find one of your posts here?

I used to use the Minox a lot for all my work travel when living in Europe.  I was always impressed with how well it coped with night shots exposure-wise.  It's a fairly easy little camera to prop against a post or railing, the door helping to keep things steady  (the door is also a handy lens shade).  The only thing is that the shutter is so quiet, you've got to really listen carefully to hear when they shutter closes.  I did read that they had made a prototype MF version of the 35; that would have been brilliant.

These sets were posted on my Minus gallery (see my signature line for links), but I've also got some on Flickr.  I used to have a a decent number of images on Fotopic, but they've gone belly up.
