Coasting on the Treasure Coast

The covered bridge in the image is gone. Washed downstream by floodwaters of tropical storm Irene. Here it is in early fall of 2003. The Lower Bartonsville covered bridge was built in 1870. Bartonsville is an unincorporated village in the town of Rockingham, Vermont. This scene is about two miles from the home of fellow member, railfan and covered bridge afficionado Tom Hildreth.



Made on color print film. I think I used a 28-70 zoom for this shot.

Saw the video tonight on the news of the bridge going into the river.  A very sad end to an historic structure.
