The Walzflex is pretty much a copy of a Rolleicord, but with a difference or two.  The Kominar is a triplet, but a damn fine one, and the coatings are Japanese which seems to make up for it not having a Tessar.  And it has a damn good fresnel screen which is very bright and easy to focus - even without a centre split.  In the US this was marketed as a Tower 65.   It's also cheaper in the current eBay market.  I paid £20 for this whereas a 'Cord would have cost £60-£80.

So a trip down to the docks again for a test roll.

Beautiful photos! I like the first and last pictures the best, with the close-ups coming in a very admirable second. This really is a sleeper camera with a lens and brightscreen like that.

That lens is very good. Triplets are unappreciated.  Seems you scored a nice one, Sandeha!

The series is up to your usual very high standards. I like the Sue Ellen and the trawlers. The textures of the rope in the last shot are beautiful.

Great results Sandeha! You're becoming a bit of a Walz junkie aren't you?

Those are excellent, Mr. Lynch.  The ol' camera looks to be in nice condition, too.
A lot to like there.

Very nice images ! I have the Tower 65 and I agree, it is a nice TLR for the price.

Lovely!  I have the Walz Envoy 35 and Walz Wide -- looks like this is of similar quality.  (Guess it goes on the list....)

I've come to appreciate the many fine Walz products, after accumulating a few over the last couple of years.  I've even thought about a Walzflex at times.  Your shots convinced me I'm on the right thought track, Sandeha.  And your compositions show off very nicely what that camera can do, besides being artistically great.

Excellent series, Sandeha.  That is a very photogenic church.  I, too, like the ropes a lot.

I've been wondering about that too, Larry. If this is what triplets are capable of (and they've been around in perfected form for a good century or so), why all the negative press?

It only takes a simple TLR for a good photographer to make beautiful pictures.

My favorite is this one...

Oh yes the Walzflex is an excellent TLR - your nice shots demonstrate that well too. I think it's value is going up by the way - a cult following forming around it?

Looks like a Yashica knockoff with a Copal shutter!  Cool!
