Waiting for the light

On my recent birthday, I decided to celebrate by shooting my Argus C-3 with some Sandmar lenses that were gifted to me by my good friend Rentavet.  I loaded up some Kodak 100 T-Max, slapped on some yellow filters (the 35 and 100mm Sandmars take Series V with built in holders), and headed downtown after I figured shooting up on the parkway was a waste of time (B&W, with fall foliage? Nah!)  It was still a bit cold in the city, and I didn't trust my fingers to not drop something while trying to change lenses, so I stuck with the 35mm.  There was plenty to shoot with that lens anyway, and here are some examples.

I want to thank John again for these lenses, as I had been thinking about getting some.  I'll have to shoot the 100mm soon, as I think it's a bit jealous of the 35mm right now.

I like that first one a lot.  Second one looks like it could have been a hundred years ago, if it
weren't for the cars.  Neat old industrial setting.
There's a triangle ghost shape in the third one that has me curious;  Shooting through a window?

If you got rid of the cars in the Williamson Road View 5 shot, you'd have a hard job picking what era it was shot.

Dean, I was on the walkway that spans the tracks between the hotel and downtown.  That is a crop from the right side of the image, as the left had worse reflections.

Phil,

Another excellent series. All I would have said, has already been stated, so I'll ask some questions instead.

Can you explain what the Sanderman lenses are? Is the special holder commercially available or is it custom made by you? And what do you use for an auxiliary finder?

Les,

The Argus Sandmar lenses were made by Enna-Werk in Munich, and are marked "U. S. Zone Germany".  I belive E-W also made the Lithagon series lenses for the C-4 Geiss modified Argus.  The Series V holders are built in to the lens front.  My lenses came with a clip-on Argus finder that fits over the rangefinder windows, and has a flip mask for the 100mm.  There is also a version that goes in the auxilary shoe on cameras so equiped.  (The Lithigon lenses have a sweet looking turret finder.)

I need to get more than one of my Argi working so that I can have all three focal lengths mounted and ready at a moments notice.
