When we were in Kindergaten and early grades, everyone was an artist. No one was self conscious and all the kids expressed what they had on mind at that moment. It was rare that young kids asked how do I do this? what colors shall I use?

Then somehow that inate talent got drummed out of the majority of the children in later grades and teachers, for the most part, explained techniques to the kids and does and don't and most students compare their work with others and quickly lose confidence and their personality.

But later in life many get interested in some form of art or craft; they make a piece of pottery, a basket,  weave some fabric, make a quilt, paint a picture, or weld some scraps of metal together like the ones you posted.
