Well, some fall colors and rocks ... lots of rocks.

I decided to get out and try to get some color before it all ended up on the ground this year, so I headed south to Turkey Run St. Park. This and it's sister park Shades are my favorites for the rugged beauty and a great trail system.

Here is the whole set for the brave ones.

Has anyone seen the bridge?! (Gratuitous Zep reference, AND works with the pic)

Thanks for looking! I had been in a bit of a slump before this, and it was good to get out and give the F100 a workout.

Very nice exit from your slump.  Like 'em all.

I see the drought was pretty bad in your neck of the woods too, Rich.  "Whirling" is a great shot, along with "Deeper In", of the ones here.  Ran through the slide show, but will have to navigate to your set page to peruse them all at a more leisurly pace.

I like 007 a lot from your flickr stream, Rich.
Are these scanned with lower resolution? they seem to pixelate when viewed big.

Rich,

Your shots are very interesting.  The sedimentary rock formations (pictures 1, 3 and 4) are very much like those found around Logan, Ohio, I'll bet the geologic histories are similar.

Your last two shots are very eye-catching!

Thanks guys, it was nice to get out and do some shooting again.

PF, yeah, we had a pretty dry summer and it's showing now. There's the occasional flaming red maple, but few and far between.

Will, yes, they are just the low res scans I got with developing. I'm moving computers around and don't have my scanner set up just yet.

Dennis, thanks!  I'm not sure what they have around Logan, but this is called Mansfield Sandstone. Probably pretty similar.

I also have a roll of E-6 to scan if I ever get things set up. Including a snake that I almost stepped on for you guys to ID. Smiley See if I had anything to worry about.

I'm flying West tomorrow, so please excuse any delays answering.

Very nice, I really like 011 and 015.  And I see you don't have the nice colours either.  We've had such a warm autumn, that the trees haven't changed that much, and then we had a wind storm the other night, so now the trees are bare.  So frustrating.

Here's one from in Virginia about 5 years ago.

Les, I like the way the mist seems to increase the color saturation of the leaves in your photos.  Nice shots.
