Catching up with some film scanning (i.e. procrastinating on end-of-semester schoolwork), here are some more photos from the same trip to Detroit that produced the color photos. Mostly shot handheld with the Rolleiflex 2.8C, a couple with the Minolta Autocord III, this time on Agfapan 100 frozen since 1990. Film was processed by a local black and white lab, pushed 25% to compensate for age-related deterioration. All in all, the photos turned out pretty well. From this set, there are photos from the amazing Detroit Institute of Arts, the village of Franklin - home to a 175-year old cider mill and apple orchard - and the Motown historical museum, formerly the "Hitsville U.S.A." Motown recording studio founded by Berry Gordy.

Excellent, Joseph!  All of 'em.  That mailbox... finger lickin' good.
Really good work!

Yeah, I love those gallery shots. And the mail box, too. That pattern of out of focus leaves in the top back is great. Good work!

Super series, Joseph! So many excellent shots.

My favorites are the two dramatic ones in the Detroit art museum (#2 & #5) and the fabulous maibox.

All good but no.3 is my personal favorite.
That's a hard angle to execute.

These are all good, but the museum shots are stellar!  Were they metered, or guestimated?

Thanks everyone! PF - all the shots in this set were guesstimated using the Sunny f/16 rule and appropriate "windage," with the sole exception of the museum statue shot, which I metered using a spotmeter app in my iPhone.
