I like to take along the tiny Minox GT on trips to conferences when I don't have time for lots of tourism or photography. The GT has a sharp 35mm/2.8 lens, and it has aperture priority. I slip the camera in my tightest coat pocket and all it takes is to set the focus distance. I use mainly ISO100 film, and I mostly set the aperture to f 8.0, but I also use this camera for night shots. There is hardly any shutter sound. It is a very faint "click" that is near silent.

I was in Boston this month, and I took a few snapshots around Harvard Square. Film was Kodak 100UC.

It was raining and very cold, so I made use of water on the ground for reflections.

Entrance to Harvard was limited to people with Harvard ID's for some reason, so I took a few photos from outside the main campus. The fall colors were pretty. I liked the distant colorful leaves showing between the buildings.

The rivalry between Harvard and Yale is well known. That day, there was game between thse two schools, and Harvrad students were selling such sweatshirts in preparation for the game.

I enjoyed the photos of the Yard and environs. Sorry you weren't here a few weeks earlier -- the campus was closed a couple weeks ago because of "Occupy Harvard", to whose occupation the university responded by restricting campus access to ID-holders only.

100UC seems to have interesting reciprocity characteristics.

Thank you, Robert.
I could only be in Boston for a brief visit with a Harvard Medical School Professor. HMS is far away from the main campus, and there was no campus to occupy there.

I also use XP2 film in the Minox.

Wonderful. I love mine so much I have used slide film in it. The lens is super sharp. You took some darn good shots there.. I love the Sweat shirt sellers.

Thanks, Larry.
I used slide film with this camera for over 15 years for some very nice slides. It is the only P&S camera that I trust with slow slide film.

Nice shots Raid! I really like the reflection one, and got a good chuckle out of the sweatshirts as well. Those seem like nice little cameras from what I've seen. My concern is, as slow as I am getting thru a roll, I'd never finish one in those.

Raid,
These are great.  Apart from the camera doing a fine job, I also enjoyed your composition.

Raid - Nice job with this wonderful camera.  I have an EL (CLA'd by DAG) and it is an impressive performer.  The lens is super sharp, and the meter gives me better exposure than I get with many heftier cameras.

Rich - You may have misunderstood: this is a full-frame 35mm.

This is a regular 35mm camera and not a half-frame camera, but it is a tiny camera.

Thank you for the feedback.

Thanks. I took most photos as I walked from the hotel close to Harvard to the subway station at Harvard Square.

Thank you, James.
What is the cost of a CLA by DAG? I have sent him mainly lenses so far.

Raid,

Just saw this thread. Very nice series, indeed. I had the copy of the Minox 35, the Balda EC 35, IIRC. Balda made the Minox body not sure if lens and shutter are the same. But the Balda lens was also very sharp.

Next time if you have a longer stay in Boston/Cambridge area, and we are in MA not FL, Claudia and I would love to get together with you.

Nice set of photos Raid, especially the night shot.  Did you learn how to say Haw-vaad?
