Sad no 127 film for the Star 127. I gave my last roll to a friend and my splitter only goes to 17mm. Maybe though I can shoot some 35mm in one....

Larry, that sounds like a plan!

Good luck.

Philip, I sold off all of my 127 cameras at the beginning of this year, and sent my last few rolls of 127 film to Billy Bob last year, so this is one of those cool film days that I no longer qualify for.  Dang. Sad

The camera I used in the service during WW2 was the Kodak Bullet that was a 127 camera. After discharge, I bought a 127 German folder (Balda or Certo.) I've had a handful of 127 folders since then, but alas I don't have any at his time.

Eager to see what will be posted on this thread.

Off Topic:

I guess I'm on another wavelength. When I saw Dec 7th, my addled brain thought of Pearl Harbor---the "Day of Infamy"

http://www.radiochemistry.org/history/nuclear_age/06_fdr_infamy.shtml

Well, that was 70 years ago. I forgot "we kissed and made up."

It is a good history lesson for the young warriors who went into combat. The very enemy that they were taught to hate, and kill, will be their country's allies and friends in a few years after victory, or when there is none-- like in Viet Nam--and the warrior are told to "stand down' and then sent home.

In several of the recent years I haven't heard one word, seen one photo or any reference to Dec 7,1941 on TV, on its anniversary.

Les, I heard on "Profile America" today about the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor (it's a daily radio capsule broadcast); every year there's a ceremony downtown to commemorate it, and today there's the dedication ceremony of the new State Veteran's Cemetery.  So it's not forgotten, don't worry.

Pete,

There is an article in today's NY Iimes about the remaining military survivors of Pearl Harbor who make a pilgrimage to "Pearl" each year on Dec 7th. There are so few alive that as of Dec 31, 2011, the Pearl Harbor Survivor organization will cease to exist.

It cited a vignette: When an 89 year old PH survivor was recently in an elementary school to speak about Pearl Harbor, a young student raised her hand and asked, "Who is she?"

There always was at least one article in the newspapers. it's the TV that has downplayed the event, lately. I'll keep an eye out for any reference to Pearl Harbor on TV today.
