That's what my late Dad used to tell me all my life, Larry. I look at the positive things around me, and I am a happy person. Always have been like this.

Well My Mother used to say I was the one who could fall into a bucket of Doo Doo. and come out smelling like a rose. Smiley Parents are funny people and now that I have been one for a few years I understand why.

Contax G1 (earlier photo of Lina). I love it. The AF works well for me.

Raid,

Gorgeous shot of Lina. You've made so many excellent portraits of each daughter, but the second one is extra special.

How long ago was it taken?

Thank you Les. My guess is two years ago. She has grown a lot the past few years.

Raid - such beautiful girls.

That recent one titled 'earlier photo of Lina' has such clarity.  The lens you had on that Contax G1 does a great job and I wonder what it is (but of course it's the photographer! isn't it amazing how often people say 'wow, what camera did you take that with? I better get one.')

These scans have done you and the lens proud.  The images have such clarity.  Apropos your earlier question about my scanning method involving the inverting of negative scans, could you share your methods?  These are so good I would like to experiment and I have such a lot to learn about scanning.  For example, how did you remove the colour cast of the C-41 negs?

thanks

Hi Dan,
I am embarassed to reveal "my scanning techniques": Sam Club cheap scans for $4 per roll developed and scanned. I then use PhotoShop to do some basic adjustments. I use the contrast adjuster to slightly increase contrast, and I use the Curve adjuster too. Colors come out fine from the Sam's Club scanning almost always. I used mainly the 45mm 2.0 on the G1. I now have two such cameras.

Raid, thanks for the info.  The subjects transcend the technical details!

However the photographer and those lenses on the G1 go together very well :-)

P.S. if I could have got scans at those prices I would never have purchased a scanner ....
