I found this Mamiya 35mm rangefinder with interchangeable bodies at the local antique store.  I don't know anything about it but it has 2 bodies and a lens.  The lens doesn't come off like a normal lens it's almost like a lensboard.  It's kind of weird to describe, they want 165 for it and I told them to hold it for me.  Anyone know anythng about this kind of camera?

I sell my pens there so they hooked me up with a Ricoh 500G, the rangefinder doesn't work but the battery compartment is clean, my next project if there're not to hard to work on.

Thanks,
Michael

I found it:  Mamiya Magazine 35 http://www.mamiya35collectors.com/rangefinder.htm

There's one on Ebay for 765 dollars, maybe I found a hidden treasure, I have it on hold.

Way cool. Cetainly unusual and unique. Probably expensive in its time and did not sell well.

Thanks Bill, I was going to put money down on it tomorrow but I decided just to go ahead and buy it.  Either way it should be a cool camera thats fun to shoot with and it was made the year I was born so I have that going for me.

I have an East German Contax D from about + - the year I was born. As good a reason as any to hold on to it, but it's not in usable condition.

That's a beautiful camera, I love the engineering that went into those types of cameras from that period.

Heh.  I guess we all have this quirk; part of the reason I like my Moskva-5 is exactly that; it's the same age I am.  Smiley
