A good one Lili, I like the detail. I was on my way to pick up my grandson from work a few nights ago and seen the same as you have here. It was beautiful, it was right over the downtown buildings and centered perfect--- no camera with me . It is what they called a 'dry' moon when I was a kid, tilted where the water couldn't run out, and it was right again-- no rain.

Thanks John! Ronald that even even happened to me with the camera at hand; airliner crossed right over the moon but I was unable to get shooting in time

Quite a toy Lili - astronomy seems to be your thing ;-) funny thing is, the moon seems to be in the same phase down here???
Curious, so I just checked it out on Google: Countries in the different hemispheres see the Moon from a completely different vantage point from each other. In the northern hemisphere the first quarter looks like a growing D, while in the southern hemisphere it looks like a C.
Well I dunno. I just went outside and had a look. The moon is in the same phase as shown on your most recent photo but rotated (almost) 90 degrees clockwise.
Bit tired now after an evening at local Mexican restaurant - will submit a shot tomorrow night if it continues clear.
And the F600EXR seems to be doing a great job!

Thanks Dan. I am unsure about how or why it should appear different. Is like 293,000 miles away any change in viewing angle would seem minor. I like the F600EXR far more than ever i thought I would. Of late I am tending towards minimalism in gear and the little Fuji goes a long way towards working in that ethos. Cannot wait to see your pics!

Well I know you can't see the Southern Cross north of the equator and it is farther away.
