When you can nail focus wide open this thing is special.  I recently obtained a black version from a friend.  It is not much bigger than the 50 'Cron but even so the M4 standard leather case will not close with the lens fitted.  Interestingly I just saw a Voigtlander 90mm f3.5 in a pawn shop here at the beach and it looks a bit smaller than the Leica 90 "fat", and its lens hood is the same design and perhaps a bit smaller.

anyway here are the samples from the Leica lens - two of our grandchildren - taken on Boxing Day

Samantha Anne - Leica 90mm Tele-elmarit "Fat" at f2.8 or 3.5 - Legacy Pro 100

Max - same lens and film

Nice, I really like the results you're getting with the 90 f2.8 Tele-elmarit.

Dan, these are lovely portraits, nice work indeed.  Your grandkids are very good-lookin'.  I can imagine Samantha Anne's dad in a few years, beating the boys away with a baseball/cricket bat.  Smiley  And is Max a ginger?  Those light eyelashes tend to give that away, hehehe.  Such freckles!

Thank you Bill.  And Pete, you are so right: they get their looks from their Grandmother (can't believe I said that about her! are we that old?!).

Yes 'Sammy Baby' will probably moan to me in later years about her Dad.  I will act all wise, knowing inwardly that I would have acted just as he is!

Good point about Max.  He is a redhead. This was Boxing Day evening:
D200 with 50mm f1.4AFD at f2.8

Out here we call them "rangas" which is an Aussie bastardised term for "orangutan", those wonderful animals which have reddish hair.  For quite a few years it was not the done thing to call redheads "rangas" but now that we have a Prime Minister with red hair, who often jokingly refers to herself as a "ranga" it is ok (Julia Gillard - who has become a mate of President Obama).

Thank you Raid.  I know how experienced a shooter you are!  Been watching your tests of various pieces of glass for years.
