Sorry to have been largely absent from Nelson's lately.  I haven't forgotten all of my friends here!

I have been working on a new blog, which started officially on Jan 1.  It is about using Panasonic (Micro 4/3 and other) cameras, as well as other interesting photographic and creative information that I come across.

See it here:  DMC-365.blogspot.com

I plan to be very active in keeping it going, so come back often.  Please read, follow, comment, tell your friends!

Happy New Year!

Regards,
Reed

Nice job, Reed.  It should be noted that there's much in your entries thus far that goes beyond m4/3 cameras (or even digital cameras in general).  Good luck on keeping the pace you have set for yourself .

Good looking stuff, and interesting!  I passed the link along to my sister-in-law who has a Lumix and is interested in bettering herself as a photographer.

Nice Blog Reed.   I will definitely keep up with it.   I am still on the fence about the Micro 4/3 cameras.   I just can't pull the trigger yet so I plan on reading your blog to help me make a decision.  I love my Nikon D700 but it's a beast for travel.  I'm looking at the G3 or maybe the GX1.  I think one of these cameras with the PZ 14-42 and maybe the 7-14 would make a great small travel kit.  I shoot more wide than telephoto.

I'll have to check it out later, Reed.  My cold is starting to kick into high gear, and the only thing I'm thinking about is getting to bed soon.  Some very positive comments though, and I would expect none the less from any of your endeavors.

Thanks for looking, everyone.  Keep it up!

Jim, I definitely know where you're coming from.  I too love the D700.  I too find it incredibly heavy and cumbersome; it has become my analog to a medium format film camera, or specialty camera for sports, or other applications that needs incredible speed, or incredible sensitivity.

For travel, it's M4/3 for me.  For most everything, and increasingly so, it's M4/3 for me.

I have written on the blog my thoughts on GX1 versus G3:
http://dmc-365.blogspot.com/2012/01/current-thoughts-on-lumix-dmc-gx1.html

I have standardized on two G3s for my foreseeable future.

Please comment on the blog as you all see fit!  It's open for discussion!

Regards,
Reed

Today's post on DMC-365.blogspot.com shows an inspiring wide angle image from photographer Paulo Moreira.  I have this natural tendency toward telephoto / high mag / small field of view.  This image re-energizes me to test that tendency, and work in wide angle:
