I went walkabout in Windsor Great Park yesterday, with my grandson Ross, friend Sarah, and three four legged friends, Charlie, Melba and Hinsa.

Graham,

Nice shots!  I love the gnarled branches on the oak trees, and the wintry skies.  I'm amazed that the grass is so green at this time of year.

The long shadow on the grass in the first image, and the sidewalk in the second, both conveniently lead the eye into the photos.  Well done.

Best,
Dennis

Guess you didn't get much of the windstorm, Graham.  It's nice to see green grass in the middle of winter.

Yes i second what Dennis has said Graham - I was drawn to number 2 because of the stark branches against the sky and that strong, slicing path through them.

you must be bloody cold though

Glad you all liked these - yes, we are bloody cold, Dan.  It's a damp, wet, windy cold - always feels colder when it's wet.  It's been around +5C most days, with occasional peaks to +10C or so but the wind chill takes it down to zero.  According to the met office, this may turn out to be the warmest winter on record.  Yesterday and today we have the highest wind velocities recorded for decades and there is a lot of damage across the country.

Very nice, I love the big old trees.  It's funny seeing green grass this time of year, and I wish our winters only got as cold as 5C!
