Battery failure, perhaps? I don't trust those off brand things they sell everywhere. I put one in my Panny, and darn near didn't get it back out. It got so hot, the sides bulged out, and I thought I was going to have to do surgery on the camera to remove it. Hope you figure it out soon.

Still in Boston, wandering down Boylston St, eh? Enjoyed the photos, hope it's easy to repair.

Raid,
Do you have a back up camera with you?
To be in the "Beantown," "Hub of the Universe," "The Athens of America," without a camera, is like having no cream in your "New England Clam Chowder."

Hi Les, I am back in Pensacola now, and I managed to take some photos in Boston before the EP-2 started to misbehave and die. I had with me a Minox GT as back-up camera. Raid

I had with me two batteries, which included an Olympus battery. It is something else that caused the problem. Raid

Thank you, Lili, but I am very comfortable with mechanical film cameras, so i will not miss the EP-2. Maybe it is an omen that I better stick with my trusted film cameras. Raid

Thanks, Robert. I returned to Florida yesterday. I will ask Olymous what it costs. This may become a costly paperweight. Raid

Raid, I would send it to Olympus for service.
For what it's worth, from one anecdotal evidence to another, when it was new, my E-P2 was lugged for two months in hot and humid Asia with heavy use and not one time did it hiccup. And it has been used constantly all year long to record family events ever since.
And the record hasn't been broken yet even now. I wasn't kidding when I said that the E-P2 is the most problem-free camera I've ever have considering the usage.

It is good to know that the camera is well built. Maybe I had back luck with it. Raid
