Hi Everyone,

I took my new G3 to a concert the other night, and shot at iso6400 with the Lumix 100-300 f4-5.6 zoom.  Not your typical concert rig, right?  Pretty slow f-stop.  I thought I'd give the G3 a worst-case low light scenario.  I think it came through in flying colors!

See my blog post for a comparison of moderate versus no noise reduction:

By the way, through my own mistake, these were shot in jpeg only.  That's seems to be pretty okay, too.

Regards,
Reed

Reed that is an astounding result.

And you have caught nice peaks of action in this shot and in the one on your blog: so I guess you were using a decent shutter speed as well.

I am still shaking my head in amazement; checked the specs with DP Review and I notice that 6400 is peak ISO for the G3.

You're on a winner.

Those are excellent shots, Reed.  I'll go with what Dan said, the capture of the peak moment is on the money.

Thanks, guys.

It's interesting.  One commenter on another forum says that they look like they were printed on canvas (meaning you could only make a small print, because of NR artifacts).  Haha.

I think it would be a bigger print than I could get if I didn't have iso6400 capabilities.

This blogging game is fun and interesting.  But, it's a lot of work.

Thanks again!
