North(western) by Megabus

My wife got me a Pentax digital WG-1 P&S for Christmas that, of course, shoots video as well as stills; she thought we could use it around the water. (It is supposed to be waterproof to 10 meters, but as a diver I'm not convinced.) This is a little video that I put together of us taking our daughter to the bus for her ride back to school in Chicago (Evanston, actually).

My poor old computer can only do vimeo as a series of stills. but the sound goes through okay.  So what I saw of your video was very good, and the music matched the mood perfectly.  Very nicely done.

My Dell Lattitude D610 shows your video, but it hesitates and the sound only comes in about half way through and then is spotty. However, I see enough to understand the interaction between mother and daughter when the latter returns to college. As "The Artist"  won several Golden Globes and may start a revival in silent films, I bore that in mild and enjoyed watching North(western) by MegaBus.

The trouble I had viewing it your video more than likely is with the media application (Windows Media Player) that came with my refurbed notebook.

There was some pathos in the short vignette.

Played well for me, very nicely done. My youngest (daughter) is off to college in Houston this fall, may have to do something similar when we send her off.

Les and PF, that's a bummer.  I don't think seeing my little video is worth pursuing this, but if you want to look into it for more general reasons here is a link on Vimeo with suggestions from other people who are having the same problem.

Mike, thanks for the links, will check then out later.  When I first got this system (Dell Dimension 4400), I knew it would be out of date in like, ten minutes.  I did a hardware update/upgrade on it once, and then got a DSL connection.  Things were really good.  But since then, social media connections have prolifigated like rabbits, advertizers now want a permanent connection to your system, and who knows what else is linking in everytime I go online.  What used to take me ten minutes to do, now takes thirty, as I wait for all the background crap to load on every page.  Vimeo has always been a problem for me as their technology came along after I got my system.  Programmers and web site designers could care less about how their stuff works on older systems, they just want to use the newest to the max.  I can't keep up with it all.  Or afford to try.  Keep making videos though, someday I might be able to see them.
