I hope I am posting this in the correct forum.

My 10 year old Epson 1280 printer recently stopped printing and the the green on/off light and red maintenance light started alternately blinking. After researching the internet it appears that a possible problem may be a saturated waste ink tank or a stoppage after a certain print count. I thought maybe I would try to replace the material in the waste ink tank but all I found were procedures for adding an external waste ink catch bottle. Apparently there are also reset procedures to follow to get the printer up and running again.

Has anyone been through this procedure or have any advice to offer?

if you can get a rplacement tank it's a good idea, but i have a feeling it's just a kind of sponge. should be easy enough to clean out.
but what you need is the resett programm. google something like 'reset program for epsonxxxxxx'
that should lead you to the correct download site.
my C65 had the same problem. just downloaded the the reset drivers and i was up and runnin g again in 5 min utes.
the reset program is a tiny little program. it wont take long.

Thank you.

Always good to hear from someone who has been through this already.
