Petey will be truly happy only if Kodak brings back Verichrome Pan.  Wink

The piece in WS Journal is not so optimistic, but indeed that's the news: film goes on at Great Yellow Father.

I guess they will thrash their CEO as soon as it is decent, too.

If you can, read the comments there. I believe nobody is mentioning the film division, although there are many nostalgics of Brownies and mentions to Kodachrome slides that need digitizing.

I'll get out tomorrow and buy some Kodak film, just for the heck of it.

It is still early and there are 17 more months of chapter 11.

It wasn't clear in their article, so I assume that Kodak will continue to make and market disposable cameras. And no mention of film.

Quite truthfully, their consumer digital offerings never matched up well against the Japanese in terms of features or looks. They needed a camera that was more advanced and less ugly than most of their offerings.

The article also says that they might license the Kodak name for use on digital cameras, much like what Rollei, Voigtlander and some others have done in terms of P&S digitals.

In any case, maybe shedding digital and a few other divisions will allow them to refocus their efforts.

Time will tell.

My local grocer has decided to stop selling film, and they put it all in a close-out bin in one corner of the store.  So I cleaned it out today.  Someone got there before me though, as all the BW400CN was gone, but I scored 9 rolls of 200 Gold, and 18 rolls of 400 Ultramax.  Now I need to check the other grocer at the bottom of the hill to see if they still have film.
