I think I posted somewhere else here - expect 6-10 weeks of waiting if you ever order from cameraleather.com

I've ordered a lot of leather from Morgan at cameraleather.  Three weeks was the longest it ever took, though even that was a little too long.  When did you order it Michael?

You told me you were ordering from Micro Tools?  They have uncut leather in stock.  Everywhere I read, including my personal one-time experience indicates you were lucky Dean.

I guess I'd better increase my lead time.  I haven't needed any for a few months, since I overstocked a little.  I've ordered from him at least eight times in the past, though.  TLRs take a lot of leather. Smiley

Even have some football pigskin scraps. Perfect for some of the pig cameras I have.

Did you order it online? I ask because they changed servers just about the time you ordered. If I read the note on their web page correctly, they may have lost some data in the process.

I ordered a sheet of the red leatherette going on 4 weeks now and am still waiting.  If I get time tonight or tomorrow I'll contact them to see what's up.

Thanks Glenn, I emailed them today, no reply yet.  mdcarma, that's what I need, a python C3 brick, that would rock.

I've bought sheets from cameraleather.com, and on two occasions, I had to send him reminder e-mails. I eventually got what I wanted, but the wait sometimes was too long.

Others have had similar experiences -- if you go by Internet forum postings.

I have some of the stuff from Micro-Tools. My only complaint is that it has very tiny holes in a grid pattern -- I can only describe them as breather holes. And of course, there is no adhesive.

I like the fine-grain stuff from cameraleather.com. I also have some of the large-grain pattern. I just reskinned my Komaflex S with the large-grain material. The original light-green rubber stuff was falling off in huge chunks. I had bought this leather for a National Graflex Series II. Now I'll have to buy another sheet. Damn.

If I had it in another color, I probably would do it again. Maybe red? Hmmm.

Hey Mike I have that camera also, I thought I had the only one left in the world.  Kidding, it's a cool camera was it hard to recover?

I just got an email back from camera leather and he said I should have gotten my order already that he will check on it in the morning.  Seems there is a problem somewhere.

Michael, it took me about an hour to redo the camera. I used the old stuff as a template for tracing onto the new covering.

I used a paper punch to cut the holes for the feet on the bottom.

I found it helpful to tape the old rubber covering to the new stuff. And of course a very sharp Exacto knife helps.
