Does the XG 9 require a batteries to fire the shutter? It hasn't any batteries in it and I'd hate to spend money on them if I don't need to. Thanks

Yep, it take a battery to fire the shutter, and it does work.

Ya ---sorta. The LED in the viewfinder seems to work when it feels like it. Maybe I just can't see it that well? Think I may use my 'takeitback' option., It has a 50mm Rokkor X 1.4 lens, and I have a 58 mm Rokkor PF 1.4 lens, both are nice clean lens. I'm wondering which one I should keep? I've got about 25 bucks into the X9 all together. Don't know if the lens would be worth that much? Or, I could send the camera in for repair, I'm guessing that would run about $60.00 total. So with the 25 that I have in it now that would make an $85.00 camera out of it. It is a clean unit, but don't think it would be worth it?

For $25 you got two GREAT lenses. Either is worth the $25 alone. Ditch the body, find yerself a nice, jewish XE7-girl and settle down. She'll be good to you. Should set you back about $100 for one in very good condition.

Originally I 'had' an XE 7 and the SRT 101. I had a bag full of lens, the whole system. To make a long story short, I got home one day and my kitchen door, casing and all was on the floor. Along with other things my XE W /bag was gone. The SRT was passed over, it has the 58 mm lens on it. I have had a X700/ 370 and didn't care for either, they are gone.
I have 25 bucks into the XG 9 with the 50 mm lens.

Well, that 50 is worth $25 on its own.
Sorry to hear about the break-in.

Well, I loaded a roll in XG last night, the weather was good today{not much rain} So this afternoon I decided to try out my Kiev 4 and the Minolta. Everything is fine, went to a nice little state park down river. Parked the van, grabbed the camera bag and walked a trail to the water. Some other guy with a big Digie hogging the spot that I like. No big deal, nice day, I'll just dig out one of my cameras, guess the light reading, then read it on the meter and see how far off I am, { I was close } Was going to record it, but allass, no pencil, oh well, I can remember. So its my turn on the bridge, I shoot a few with the Kiev, take off the hood & lock it to infinity and back into it's case. Ahhh Life is good! Back into the bag for the XG 9, lets see how this beast compares with the Kiev. -------- Wrong----- I had put the SRT in the bag instead of the XG. And with no film in it :? :? {it must be an age thing? :? Tomorrow my wife and I are going to Seattle for a couple of days, maybe the XG needs a change of scenery?
