Or is he just crazy like a fox?

The last one he trotted out went for $250 so... Like I said, he's a cult figure now. Wonder where he's finding these beaters to begin with, you know, the ones he fixes up.

I'm assuming he has a little set-up for it. His prices are climbing steadily.

Doesn't it say something on his site about polishing the chroming off?  Wait - here it is:

I also take some of the various models of Isolettes and Hapo 66e's and totally refurbish them with new bellows, naturally, but also with new exterior coverings. These are a fun experience and give you something different, and I think something "cool" to set you apart from the next guy. Some just with new body covering and some will also be stripped of their chrome and polished to a bright brass finish.

Thanks Scott.  In fact that figures, they have a kind of burnished-brushed look about them so if the base is brass then it could be he's used a brass brush on a dremel after stripping the chrome.

Oh, and probably finished them with some varnish or laquer to keep the shine ... if so, they might look pretty tacky in daylight.

I have an Isolette on its way here now, but it's a pre-war bakelite-topped one, so I can't brass it...   Sad

On the other hand, I have an Isolette on its way here. Cheesy

Craig, I missed the end of the Isolette III that went for $250 and I think this is the same one? Don't think it met the reserve, last time around.

Regardless, that up there now is a jewel. Too bad I don't have three hundred burning a whole in pocket...

Hmmm...maybe it is the same one. I was watching the last one, it ended, but I deleted it without checking the final bid or if it sold. The last bid I recall on it was $241.

I bid $125 on it just to say "I was there!", but I knew it would be way more than I could afford.

Hahhha...ha...yeh...whew! Not me, bud... He nearly snagged me with a sweet  6x9, but no, my pockets are way too shallow for Kreckel love.

He comes up with nice Voitlaender 6 x 9 units, the occasional ADOX that I find tasty - He'll probably snag me, eventually.
