Following are a few images of my weekend find at the local thrift store.

While the camera costing $4.94 was more than I would typically spend on a focus free camera, this one had too many bells and whistles to pass up. It has: 50MM 1:6.3 lens, a hot shoe, off camera flash, a broken flash bracket, motor drive, and a waist level view finder. On top off all that it makes a lot of noise.

Here are a few shots I took on Sunday.

I have not been able to find any information on this camera and question the Canon logo on the front. If anyone has any information on the "Canon" S-2000 let me know.

You think it's a Canon? Ha!

It's a cheap chinese camera that is very common in quick scams, i.e. back-of-the-white-van sales, flea markets, the such. Even seen a few of those on eBay. They didn't stop at Canon - They also had exact same cameras labed with Nikon and Opymlus logos!

I would try to get 3.94 back for this camera.

Very nice pictures. I've seen those cameras at the flea market here brand
new and selling for inflated prices.
I am pretty certain it's a fake Canon, like the fake Rolex watches, but it seems to work really well anyway.  Cheesy

I would show it off like it was a Canon.  Of course, I bought a fake Rolex, too.  The pictures aren't bad at all, exposure seems on, and the one of the baby looks great.

But I'm a Nikon guy and a smart mouth

I think the giveaway is the "Optical Lens"  -- found ONLY on the finest cameras, of course.  If there ever was a candidate for being crushed by a steamroller (as they often do for forgeries), this is it.   Maybe you should send a photo of it to Canon USA and ask if they will honor the warranty!

So what are you all going to tell me next the the $75 bottle of perfume that I bought my wife for $15 out of the nice lady's trunk at the gas station isn't authentic?

I guess my sarcasm didn't fully shine through in my writing. I was sure that it's not a Canon, but I was somewhat surprised at the images I was able to obtain with it. I do like the idea of requesting warranty work from Canon. I would love to have the flash bracket fixed.
