Just thought I'd provide the link to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in case anyone was interested.  The Fiesta starts Sept. 30.

For those who don't know about this event, visualize 800 hot air balloons in the sky at once.  This is the largest gathering of hot air balloons in the world and supposedly the most photograph event in the world.  But then, how many hot air balloon pictures does a person need?

Those colorful globes have gotten to be something of a cliché.  Yours is a nice change of pace.
I stumbled on the gathering somewhat by accident one year while visiting my daughter in Albuquerque.

Mike, that picture looks almost surreal in B & W.

Mike

After the first year taking the standard balloon pictures, the challange is taking different pictures.  The above photo was taken with a Minolta HiMatic 7s.  So was this one.

The question this year is what camera to take and what to do?  The 6x9 Nettar may have to come along.

Brian,
You've got some really nice color going there.  I doubt I'll make it this year, so hope you'll show us something off the beaten path.

We're discussing coming out. We've been saying we're going to for 6 yrs now, but man fuel suddenly prohibitively expensive to make that run out.

Hah-Quite by coincidence I'll be there at that time. I won't have any rare or old cameras with me-will they still let me take pictures?
