i was driving along the highway today and saw a somewhat cute little beaver (the animal) standing up on its hind legs in some grass.  behind it was a little forest type of woods, clear day.  i got my camera out of the bag to snap a pic and i forgot to load film in it   .  it would've been a great pic for photography class i think also, and i missed it!

Most of us can identify with such a moment.

Where I live in north Austin, tornados are relatively rare.  About four years ago, a perfectly shaped one came down about two miles away, the wall cloud and funnel in nice relief, with no intevening rain.  I ran back into my house, grabbed the SLR, and took pictures like a madman.  After things settled down, you know what I came to realize, of course... there was no film loaded at the time.

I keep loaded cameras in one place in my house (near the door), unloaded ones in another.  Never any confusion (though it's certainly possible to grab one with few, or even just one frame remaining).  OTOH, I also habitually carry a cassette of Tri-X and a couple rolls of TMY-120 in my pockets, so I can reload quickly if needed.  I can change 120 in about two and a half minutes, depending on the camera.

Had about the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago, I seen some Eagles fishing along the Clearwater river. A logging truck behind me runnin late. I pulled over at the first chance & turned around. I pulled into a wide spot by the Eagles, they be still sitting there eatin fishies, But while I be putting on a long lens they got thier bellies full and left.
