as if i didn't have enough problems in so-called real life, i drove out the other week to the Second Sunday Camera Swap in Wayne, New Jersey, hosted in a firehouse. They said it went till 2 pm but we got there at 1:30 and most of the sellers were already packing up their wares....

...and it was a very odd (aged) crowd of pre eBay types, guys with tables full of filters, various books and manuals, not much truly professional or high end stuff but lots of "lesser" brand classic gear, like pentax/minolta/M42/etc. and old folding cameras and unusable polaroids and 1970s long-forgotten slide display systems...in other words, a nelsonfoto paradise!

...so i hope to run into some of you fellow New Yorkers there sooner or later...

...and to make a long story short, i walked away with a Canon GIII QL17 (self-sufficient) and a black Canon FTB...

long, long ago my father and i had a FT, a FTBn, an A-1 and an AE-1, with a dozen lenses. all of these were stolen, sold, or lost somewhere along the way and Nikons and Leicas became my tools of the trade. but always i had these long repressed memories of the Canons.

So for $49 i opened the pandora's box...

now i need lenses! fast prime lenses! the f/2.0, f/1.8, f/1.4, f/1.2 lenses!

what have you guys got in your closets? i want to get lenses! you can PM me here or email me at AlanSChin (at) yahoo.com.

thanks!

I go to the 2nd Sunday show every few months.  The sellers do try to pack up early.  Some of the tables are overpriced, but if you look you can always find good deals.

so no one wants to sell their Canon lenses!

can't say that i'm surprised, i'm sure everybody wants to hold on to their good glass.

it's time to start cruising eBay then....

Alan, I'll check for you this morning... I have to go see a man about that F4 I borrowed. He might have some items for you, too. Will check, get back to you etc with prices, etc., if any exist.
