And this:

I've been distracted from looking at nelsonfoto or other photo forums for quite a while. It's due to a serious health issue that was discovered accidently. It's nearly 2 months since an ultrasound at a VA hospital discovered the problem. Since then I've had a battery of more precise tests and still the diagnosis is left open, with a big question mark. I will get a second opinion from the premier hospital in Boston (Mass General Hospital) on September 11th.

It's the uncertainty that keeps me from fully participating in my favorite hobby. Claudia and I will spend next week in the Naragansett Bay area of Rhode Island, which neither of us has ever seen. That may ignite some enthusiasm to use the cameras I plan to take there. The event we will celebrate is Claudia's 79th birthday, not Labor Day.

I've missed your presence here, but this explains much. However, I never know what to say or write after receiving such news... you are in my thoughts on a regular basis, though I have been horrible at keeping in touch. I trust you are in excellent care and receiving top-notch treatment.

Happiest 79th to Claudia!

fondly,
Craig

Thanks Craig for directions how to subscribe to threads. It was very easy to do.

And thanks for your personal comments. I hesitated to give a clue why I've been AWOL so long. It's OT and probably indiscrete to mention health condition in threads. I'll be in the best of hands at MGH.

Les, i'll keep you in my thoughts. I am a VA nurse, and if you ever need help navigating the VA system, I will be glad to help anyway I can.

Les, I'll vouch for Bruce. He hasn't helped me with any VA issues as I wouldn't qualify, but we've had long conversations about issues and he's as much a soldier for right as I've met. Hard-headed Arkie, that one.

Jake and Jordan,

Thanks for tuning in to this thread.

Bruce and Craig,

Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes. I'll send PMs to you both to properly respond.  Just might go to Arkansas one day for the fishing and the waters-- and meet some real nice folks.

Les, best wishes to you also from Australia. I'm very appreciative of the images you've shared with us through this site (and p.net), and have just had a brief look at your (new to me) website which looks great! It's a truly impressive collection of classic images.

Many of the images Les made while in Europe are breathtakingly beautiful - from a streetshooter perspective, in my case. They deserve to be published, and they deserve being on display, and I hope some soul with enough capital to make it happen does so. I would gladly pay to view handsome prints of that series under good lighting.

Lester, have you ever considered a print sale? If so, I would be very interested in knowing your prices should you undertake the effort.
