Bought! We'll see if it is indeed screwmount.

Yep, a screwmount Vivitar. Just a 35mm focal length, f/2.8, but a nice sturdy metal lens for the keeping. No scratches, fungus, and aperture is snappy. Looks like I lucked out!

Those were nice lenses. I remember a 20mm lens for Nikon mount that was an excellent alternative to the Nikkor. A non-AI lens I think.

Wow - that was an ugly pup.  Glad it turned out to be a keeper.  And cheap!

Clean it up and show us some pictures!

Heh, I figured it wouldn't be as ugly as those pics showed - they're terrible! Here's a better picture of it:

Yeah, it's got some paint missing on the focus ring, but still! The optics look great.

Actually I have a Takumar with the same paint missing. Any ideas on how to touch up the paint on the lenses?

Nothing like as ugly as the eBay pictures made it out; those must have been *badly* oversharpened from a low-res digital original.  Tongue

Try Testor's model paint for touch up, applied with a very small brush.  It's enamel, so can be applied over lacquer or enamel original paint, flows nicely, the black is *black*, and it's cheap, too.
