Anyone noticed this kind of distortion with their Electro 35's? Shocked Not really a serious problem but more pronounced than my other 35mm stuff.

I used to use an Electro G35 as my one and only camera back somewhere in the vicinity of 1980. I dont recall ever having barrel distortion issues.

When I read that it has a default shutter speed of 1/500 when no battery is installed, I shot a test roll, oh about a year ago or so, and just varied the aperture to suit the scene, both sunny and shaded and was surprised to rediscover just how sharp a lens it has.

what has made you ask the question?

I cant say that I have shot a doorway or window frame with it.

One place where barrel distortion is a real pain in the butt is with P&S digicams like the Canon G2 and Nikon 5700 which have equivalent wide angle views of just a 35mm lens in 35mm film terms. I find these to have plenty of barrel distortion which shows up in landscapes or waterscapes where the camera is tilted even slightly below level with the horizon in either horizontal or vertical views.  I end up with a very curved far shoreline view of Georgian Bay.  It is much much worse than what I have experienced with 35mm lenses with film cameras.

I first noticed the problem with vertical images near the edge. Nothing to worry about but curious.

Lots of talk about using superwides on the RF cameras and was wondering how bad/good an LTM at 25-35mm is. I use a Canon FD 28-55 zoom which has never shown a problem in the 35-40mm range.

The GT I have is a super camera. The autoexposure is as good/better than my Canon T70 which may not be a good comparison though. It is much quieter.

Regards.  Cheesy

I think it may just be your camera.  Neither one of my electros show any distortion like that at any aperature.
