Or not. But it seems like a good risk. I guess not many bids due to low number on seller, but he's batting 100%, so....

Could be a good deal for somebody. Actually looks like a later (post-war) Automat.

Yep, has to be an Automat; no red window, even underneath, so the only way to start the counter is via the automatic sensor.  BTW, what's "sooning"?

I'd be bidding, but I'm broke...

Look at that. It went for over $100, even when poorly and incorrectly described. I stopped bidding on these types of listings since they are basically worthless. If you read the fine print at the bottom, it states that all items are sold "as-is" and that "no evaluation has been done". How on earth can this camera be listed as "working" if it hasn't even been evaluated?!? Basically, Ebay sellers can feed lies to buyers, as long as the item is sold "as-is".

If someone here bought this camera, and it turns out to a great Rollei, good for you. Personally I wouldn't take the chance.

My take on this, for several years that I've been using eBay, has been that I go only by what I can see in the photos.  I've gotten very good at seeing what's there, if there are good photos; if there aren't, I bid accordingly (which has netted me a few cameras that needed only minor work for under $10).  And as a bottom feeder, I'm not taking a risk with big dollars against a dodgy description...
