Randy, this is probably going to be one for you to nail, but maybe somebody else has god experience with manual Minolta stuff.

I have, of course, an XG1. I got good lenses for 50mm, but I want WIDER. Every 24mm I see in Rokkor glass is priced out of my range. What suggestions for off-brand lenses would you suggest?

Put your quest on hold, Craig -- I may soon have good (or at least passable) news for you.

I'd do a search on Evilbay, and save it to your favorites. One in your pricerange should turn up sooner or later. Good things come to he who waits, eh?

Heh, yeh, I got ye olde ROKKOR search hardwired in my user panel on the bay.

Randy. If you had to shoot a single Minny manual body, which would it be? I would prefer A-priority if possible. The XG1 is a nice little camera, would like a bit more shutter if I could, taler than 1/1000th.

The XG1-XG7-XGE is primarily the same camera to me, XG7s have a removeable back should you desire to use the Data Back G. If you plan to stay with an X Series Minolta I would say the XG9 would be the better choice as it has a Depth of Field Button. Steer away from the XGA as it is Auto only. I would also recommend the X-370, both my Wife and I use that one a lot. I own one of every model except for the XGA and the XGM. Hope this helps Craig.
