Sam! Don't breathe! There's your support. Thank God you bought that $1500 body. ;-)

SLIU,

That's an elegant photo. Sam. So much going on, yet so simple. There is a connection. Bravo!

Why do people shun the 3.5/135mm?  In the right hands it does wonders, steady hands in this case.

Thank you guys.

I got the lens about a year ago when somebody went to Al's store to get rid of a broken Nikon. I paid $5 for the set, kept the lens and gave the junk body to Al. 135mm is not my favorite focus length. But for $5, there is nothing to complain about. Smiley

I only shot the lens once, on the Thanksgiving eve last year.

with a Nikon F, of course. Smiley

Hey that's right - the poorade is coming next week. I keep forgetting I live in a place now that I used to think only existed on television when I was a boy.

= $1525 camera

Seriously, nice job adapting your old Nikkors to the Canon.  Coverts your dSLR into a 1940's era Pentacon S - manual focus, stop down shooting Cheesy

Actually, I think the adapter that Sam has works as fully manual, no stop down metering. I think you can also use AE. So no Spotmatic, just a Nikkormat EL.

Sam will confirm whether this is true or not.

I don't see how - Canon electronic motorized stopdown in lens, Nikon mechanical stopdown.  Unless the adapter draws current and can push the stopdown lever.

I simply use full manul and ignore the meter at all because I don't use meter anyway. Smiley

When I use non-maximum f-stops, it is like in the DOF preview mode where the viewfinder is dimmer and it shows the full DOF of the aperture.

BTW, the viewfinder screen on my 30D is original, which I don't feel it too dark, small or hard to focus like other people have complained about. But I am a guy who is happy about the dim ground glass of Rolleiflex Old Standard. So don't take my opinion seriously. Smiley

Of the old standard ground glass, I know what you mean if you check my recent posting.

Right, so that's not what I thought. Makes sense though. Looking through both Sam's and Dean's cameras, I thought they were just about as bright as looking at any slr viewfinder. They are a bit smaller but pretty bright, at least at full aperture.
