... as she is getting a bit good at the photographising lark and putting me off my stride. No sooner than she gets her mits on the P&S 'Canon Shure I'll get a Shot', than the photos are looking brill, much better than mine.
I mean, look at this.........

Same thing with me and the wife - the more she studies my stuff, the more confident she feels shooting, and the better she gets.

All it means is that you are a great teacher. At least that is what I would tell myself over and over again.

Well, approach it any way you like, but now you're going to *have to* get her a camera where she has to make decisions beyond where to point it and when to push the button, and see if it's real talent or just a fluke ability to compose.

I'd suggest starting her on a 6x6 folder.  That way, if she's still that good, you can at least blame the big negatives... Wink

I gave my best beloved a Minolta Dynax 5 as a Christmas present three years ago.  I invited her to share in my passion for photography.  She accepted, and has produced a stunning portfolio.  She sees a shot where I don't, takes far fewer shots of any one subject than I would (usually just one) and has far more keepers.  Now she has an Eos 30e and a 50e and a range of Canon glass, an Olympus OM20 and a set of primes, her original Dynax 5, and is hankering for an Eos 20D.  I just follow along, blinking.

It's a very nice shot Andrea, but she has a ways to go to match your quality.
